Getting the 'Look'
At this point the style of the final outcome is what I've been brainstorming and researching.
I know who i want it for, i know i want to have it human centred and speak to the users senses and give that overall feel of happy but respectful nostalgia, but that's all done visually so having a clear idea what i want to show and how i show it is imperative.
There have been alot of criticism on artists and Hollywood using rose coloured glasses on the past in many adaptions of historic events and stories. I will hopefully find a happy medium.
Addressing the criticisms, but still making it appealing to the viewer. I will do this by following the same positive perspective many modern day reconstructions have but keeping all visuals as accurate as possible.
Shows are becoming more elaborate when retelling history however after one receives much criticism the one to follow usually succeeds by staying more historically accurate.
I believe these shows coincide with the growing interest in history.
Local and recent example would be:
Derry Girls (2018) 1970s/The troubles
Which was confirmed for a second season just after the record breaking ratings for the first episode, practically unheard of. Usually producers wait until the 5-6th episode before confirming a second season, even on short seasons.

The Crown (2016) 1900s
War and Peace (2016) 1800s
Victoria (2016) 1800s
The Last Kindom (2015) 10th century
Board Walk Empire (2010) 1900s
The Tudors (2007) 1400s
As you can see from the examples above, Period Tv Shows are becoming more and more popular and therefore what would've had perhaps one or two adaptions a year now has four or five prime time shows within a year and once one runs its course/storyline it is replaced by two new series.
The fact the ratings on these re-adaptions and tv shows are rivalling new plots and scripts backs up the theory that people are more and more interested in the past.
This interest is shown not just in the rise of more and more history tv shows and movies but also in growing ancestry sites and growing numbers at community events regarding local history.

Councils across Northern Ireland have more cultural and historical events in comparison to any other type of event on the calander, which speaks for itself in terms of growing interest and popularity.

A factor in the growing popularity in these historical adaptions is the optimistic perspective in which they're shown, selective with truths. This style will be an aim of mine for the final outcome for this bunker. This will require learning new techniques in lightening, innovative atmospheric elements and a decent amount of editing.
Visuals depict this style are seen in the projects Pinterest and Behance groups.
Colour swatches and mood boards are being developed alongside sketches and ideas.
